Economic empowerment

Economic empowerment means people thinking beyond immediate survival needs and thus able to recognise and exercise agency and choice. It is the capacity of poor women and men to participate in, contribute to and benefit from growth processes on terms which recognize the value of their contributions, respect their dignity and make it possible for them to negotiate a fairer distribution of the benefits of growth.
